Shane Cooper

President

Shane Cooper (CAPT, JAGC, USN, retired) is the President of the Naval Justice School Foundation.  Shane served in the Navy for 26 years as a submarine officer and Navy judge advocate before retiring in 2021. He was the Commanding Officer of Naval Justice School from 2019 to 2021. Shane is the Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid for Cornell Law School.

Jay Crisfield

Vice President

Jay Crisfield (CAPT, JAGC, USN, retired) is the Vice President of the Naval Justice School Foundation.  Jay retired from the Navy in 2021 after 30 years of active duty as a judge advocate.  He was an instructor at the Naval Justice School from 1997 to 1999.  Jay is currently the Editor-in-Chief of International Law Studies, the international law journal of the U.S. Naval War College.  He lives in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, with his wife, Julia, and their two children.

Julia Crisfield

Secretary and Treasurer

Julia Crisfield (CDR, JAGC, USN, retired) is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Naval Justice School Foundation.  Julia retired from the Navy in 2015 after 21 years as a Civil Engineer Corps officer and judge advocate.  She was the Operations Officer of the Naval Justice School from 2012 to 2015.  Julia practices estate planning and administration at Orson & Brusini, Ltd.  She lives in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, with her husband, Jay, and their two children.
